Happy New Year's Eve!

Tonight's the night.  Big anticipation.  Most of us will be getting together with friends and family to usher in the new year.  Some of us will be randomly hoping to hook up.  Others, going to sleep early.  Whatever you decide to do, make it safe, okay?

Ever see the movie "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective?"  The one with Jimmy Carrey?  I did and I thought it was awesome.  Even the sequel.  The reason I ask is because we happened to find an article that features a real pet detective and thought you'd find it interesting.

Exorcising the Hum-Bug.

Hello and good morning.  I know each of us celebrate different things during this time of year, but as your Blogmaster General, I happen to celebrate Christmas.

Christmas is a holiday best enjoyed as a child, as when you get older things become more jaded and certain magics just don't appear anymore....at least not to me.

One also must note that I used to work in retail for almost 10 years and was hearing Christmas music in October. In addition, seeing the masses of people flood the stores, then more people come back bitching about the quality of their gifts takes its toll on you.  This kind of conditioning and experience can potentially make anyone into a massive Scrooge.

That being said, I'm trying my best to salvage this Christmas.  I have a new nephew celebrating it for the first time, I have a 91 year old grandmother still going strong, and I'm not working retail anymore....so I want this Christmas to be a good one.

I happened to be exploring online and came across this relevant and topical holiday article in regard to dog owner's tree preferences and some holiday safety tips.  I am a big fan of opinion polls and statistics, so I found it interesting.

Damn you, Jack Frost!

Hello everyone.  Welcome to Monday.

The long weekend is over.  The turkey is gone.  The cranberries are dried up.  Its cold out.  Very cold.

It seems like yesterday it was summer out, but now Jack Frost is baring his gruesome, icy fangs.  Its time to put away the shorts and tee shirts and pull out the itchy sweaters and thick winter coats.

If you're paying attention at all, you're picking up I'm not a big fan of winter.  Truth is, every year around this time I say to myself that I've had enough and that I wouldn't be here this time next year.  Every year, I'm still here.

So, since I'm once again subjecting myself to the frigid weather, I think we should talk about how our pets are also affected by the elements and how to protect them.  Ready?  Keep them inside.  Just kidding...sort of.

I happened to find an interesting and informative article (from the ASPCA) that gives an overview of some preventative measures you can apply toward your dogs to keep them warm and protect them.

You love your dog.  Your dog loves you.  Keep your best friend warm and safe.  They'd do the same for you.
