An Important and Incredibly Blatant Invitation.....

We at, Stewie to the Rescue, believe in being direct.  Time is a valuable commodity and we want to save ours and yours, also.  What do I mean by this rambling?  Well...glad you asked.

Tonight there is going to be an amazing, hysterically funny, uber-entertaining comedy benefit taking place at the very fine and wonderful, Gotham Comedy Club.  The door admission for this event will be going to benefit a very worthwhile cause....animals in need.  Animals who need homes...animals who need surgeries...and also owners who need help keeping their animals healthy.

The bottom line?  Come down tonight @ 8 p.m., laugh, drink, and support an awesome cause.  You'll be very happy you did.

Here's the info....

Spider-Man isn't the only hero in NYC....

Good Morning,

I might be overstating things, but I think that everyone enjoys a hero story.  I think hero stories appeals to the kid in each of us.  They remind us of a time where things weren't so convoluted and the world wasn't interpreted as so shady.  I think the only ones who don't like the hero, are the villains, but I think that's just how it goes.

Anyhow, I happened to find a video on youtube that I thought was really cool.  This time it involves two dogs (one of which is the hero of the story), which are revealed to be family.  I'm a sucker for stories like this.  Check it out for yourself right HERE.

What'd you think?  Pretty cool, right?  All he needs is a cool costume.  Maybe even a cape.  Maybe not.  Not sure if he could work the cape or not.

Speaking of heroes and such, you yourself can be a hero to a needy animal by attending our upcoming comedy fundraiser which will be happening at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC on Wed. Feb. 23rd.  Show starts at 8pm and features a super-powered comedic line-up the likes you haven't seen before (perhaps an overstatement, but they are all incredibly funny).

Note the following flier for all the info:

Be there or be square.  Be a hero to a needy animal!

Are you out there? We need your help!

Morning and happy snowy friday to you.  Damn...snow sucks.  Can  it just be summer already?  So annoying.  Nothing more fun than waking up and shoveling your butt off then heading out to work.  Such a great way to start your morning.  Okay, sorry, got that off my chest.

As you probably know (and if you didn't, you will now), Stewie to the Rescue is a not for profit dog rescue organization.  We don't collect money for ourselves, its all about helping needy animals and assisting owners in need.  That being said, we are always on the look out for those willing to help and whatever donations you can spare to help us in our mission.

Right now, specifically, we're looking for someone who can aid us in getting some more visibility online via web trafficking.  If you are, or know someone who would be willing to help out a worthy cause and some amazing animals, please contact me at: stewiepr@gmail.com.

For anyone else who has any inquiries or wants to make a donation of any kind, please hit us up on our site, www.stewietotherescue.org.

A Call to Arms....

Am I really up at 9 a.m. on Sunday?  What?!?  Its probably because I slept the majority of Saturday after a fun New Year's Eve.  Well anyway, good morning, fine readers.

Every morning I try to deliver the best in terms of this blog and sometimes everything flows amazingly and other times my fuzzy, under caffeinated brain struggles.  Today, I'm kind of in the middle, but I do have something simple to bring forth.

I know I've mentioned how much our supporters mean to us.  You do.  Incredibly important.  Without you, there is no us.  Its that simple.

That being said, I thought about reaching out to people who have "In's" with certain businesses, service companies, etc, and wanted to illuminate another way you can help us in our mission....by sponsoring our events or donating products/services to our raffles.

If you're one of these ultra-cool, well connected folks and believe in what we're doing and want to help, please don't hesitate to contact me (Carl Catania) at: stewiepr@gmail.com .  It'd be very appreciated.

Also, if you're someone who likes to have a good time and enjoy some spirits, we've got something awesome happening this week.  Come on down January 6th at Fiddlesticks in NYC.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE EVENT.

Anyhow, Sunday has spoken....back to bed.

2011 - Let's do this!

Good morning.  Yes, I know it's afternoon, but not to all of us.  Hope everyone had a fantastic night last night, whatever the case.

Generally, I haven't been a fan of New Year's Eve or day, but for whatever reason, I'm kind of seeing the positives lately.  Despite whatever crap we've been through this past year, we've always managed to dust ourselves off and get back up.  We took the good and the bad and kept on truckin'.

The way I see it...2011 is ripe with opportunity.  Its ripe with great successes waiting to be plucked from the vine and I for one, am going to do whatever I can to take part in this harvest.  In truth, we all can.

Let's kick the negative sh*t to the side for a change and focus on doing the right stuff and getting things done.  We at Stewie to the Rescue, are looking to make more of an impact this year.  We've been helping, but we want to do more.  We want to save more animal's lives, we want to help more owners in need, we want to make more of a difference.

In any mission, you're only as good as the resources around you.  Resources can be tangible or intangible, but they are necessary.  Our greatest resource are the people who are sympathetic to what we're trying to do...you...the reader.  YOU are the ones who can help us put for checks in the "Win Column" then in the "Loss Column."

We want to thank of all of you who have supported us this past year and with the risk of sounding somewhat unsatisfied, we still ask you to continue your support.  We ask you to tell a friend.  Tell them to tell a friend.  Let them know what we're trying to do and ask them to help, too.  Together we can take 2011 to a new level and make an impact together.

An easy way you can help out is by just coming down to one of our comedy benefits.  Information on our upcoming show on 1/18/11 is available by you CLICKING RIGHT HERE.

Thanks for listening and Happy 2011,

Stewie

Take a look...

Good morning, everyone.  Hope you're all having an awesome day.

First off, want to thank the fine folks who came down to the Comic Strip Live last night for our comedy fundraiser.  We appreciate your help, but we still have a lot of work to do, so please tell your friends...tell you family...tell your co-workers...even tell a complete stranger by approaching them in a non-threatening way identifying yourself as a friend.

Anyhow, thanks again.

For those who might not have visited our site lately...shame on you...I've attached a link of some means of helping us with our mission and some pups who desperately need your help.  Click here to view.

The Week Ahead....

Good morning and a very happy Sunday to you.

So last night I got dragged out to seeing the new Reese Witherspoon movie.  Generally, I'd avoid her movies like the plague, but I was out with a friend and am working on my control issues, so I decided to give it a try.

The movie itself was filled with stars like Jack Nicholson, Paul Rudd, and Owen Wilson, but they couldn't make it watchable.  I don't think anyone could.  It was a 2 hour snooze fest of cutesy romantic "what if's?" and convoluted business tripe.  It was no Saw 3D, in other words (just kidding).

Let's just say, I could've used the time I spent better.  Speaking of which....

I'm looking at this week and seeing some home holidays down the pike, but right before an amazing event on Wednesday the 22nd.

Now I know what you're thinking.  These guys are really pushing this event hard and all that...but there is a reason behind it.  We NEED your help.  Actually...both WE and THEY need your help.

We've had a good amount of SUCCESS STORIES,  but we can do it alone.  We need the people's support in helping us continue our mission and that's where you guys come in.

So, that being said we have an amazing night of comedy in store for you this Wednesday that will ultimately go to helping some great animals.  Come down, laugh, drink, and get into the holiday spirit knowing that you are making a difference in an animal's life.

For details on the show, CLICK HERE.

We hope to see you there.  Also, consider yourself informed on that Reese Witherspoon flick.  Instead of wasting two hours of your life there, come celebrate and have some laughs with us.

Help is a great four letter word.....

A hearty good morning to all of our friends.  Its a crisp Saturday morning that's ripe with momentous possibilities.

You can throw on the old winter coat and go to the park.  You could get a posse together and accept the challenge of shopping at your local mall.  You can watch Netflix, order chinese food, and be a shut-in all day.  So many options.

Another option could be lending a helping hand.  As you folks probably know by now, Stewie to the Rescue aim's to make a difference and and we couldn't do it without your support.  You are the life-blood that makes the Stewie body tick and we more than appreciate that.

That being said, we are often asked by friends and supporters what can be done in helping us with our mission.  Well...there are a few things:
  • Come to our fundraisers and bring your friends – We make it fun to donate by sponsoring trivia nights, wine tastings, and monthly comedy shows, where the proceeds go towards funding our mission. Please join our mailing list on our home (link) page to find out about upcoming events!
  • Donate an item for one of our raffles – We raffle items at many of our events. It’s even tax-deductible!
  • Volunteer to foster - Stewie will pay for all of the pet’s expenses, including food, toys and grooming! Write us at stewietotherescue@gmail.com if interested.
  • Create and run a fundraiser.  Are you an artist or photographer who can create portraits of pets?  Do you manage an event space?  Know someone who owns/runs a winery? Again, contact us at stewietotherescue@gmail.com with your ideas.
Please take the time on this potentially awesome Saturday and help out if you can.  As far as four letter words go...help is one of the best and we totally appreciate all of it from our friends and supporters.

Thanks and ttys

Case of the Mondays? (11/22)

Good morning and happy Monday to everyone.  In many cases, Mondays are generally the most dreaded day of the week.

Most of us watch the clock on Friday, waiting for 5pm to come around, then we openly embrace the weekend, doing our best to leave the week behind us.  Monday is spoiler.  Monday is the official end of fun and merriment and means a return to the workforce.

Despite the negative stigma that Mondays bring, I happened across a video that really moved me.  It features a downed dog in the middle of a busy intersection that is pursued and eventually saved by another dog.

This dog risks life and limb to combat the deadly traffic conditions to save his fellow canine friend.

I don't know about you, but I think there's just something great about that.  On my part, it certainly helped me ease into my Monday a little better, maybe it can help yours too.

Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjyhKN_35g

Enjoy your day.  Only 4 more to go til' the weekend..lol.
