Good morning and a very happy Sunday to you.
So last night I got dragged out to seeing the new Reese Witherspoon movie. Generally, I'd avoid her movies like the plague, but I was out with a friend and am working on my control issues, so I decided to give it a try.
The movie itself was filled with stars like Jack Nicholson, Paul Rudd, and Owen Wilson, but they couldn't make it watchable. I don't think anyone could. It was a 2 hour snooze fest of cutesy romantic "what if's?" and convoluted business tripe. It was no Saw 3D, in other words (just kidding).
Let's just say, I could've used the time I spent better. Speaking of which....
I'm looking at this week and seeing some home holidays down the pike, but right before an amazing event on Wednesday the 22nd.
Now I know what you're thinking. These guys are really pushing this event hard and all that...but there is a reason behind it. We NEED your help. Actually...both WE and THEY need your help.
We've had a good amount of SUCCESS STORIES, but we can do it alone. We need the people's support in helping us continue our mission and that's where you guys come in.
So, that being said we have an amazing night of comedy in store for you this Wednesday that will ultimately go to helping some great animals. Come down, laugh, drink, and get into the holiday spirit knowing that you are making a difference in an animal's life.
For details on the show, CLICK HERE.
We hope to see you there. Also, consider yourself informed on that Reese Witherspoon flick. Instead of wasting two hours of your life there, come celebrate and have some laughs with us.

Anger on Target.....
According to Merriam Webster's online dictionary, anger is defined as: a strong feeling of displeasure and usually of antagonism.
Many people think negatively about the word and the expressions it conveys, but in truth, anger isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Anger allows people to express their frustration and shows that we have the capacity to be passionate about a person, cause, or situation. It illustrates that we have feelings that are well rounded, as we can't always be content or composed all of the time.
There's a story that I never got a chance to blog about that really stuck with me and the details made me angry.
The story involves a dog named "Target", who has been credited in saving several soldiers from a potential bomb attempt in Afghanistan.
As Target settled in with master Sgt. Terry Young, a National Guard Member, she slipped out of the yard and was picked up as a stray.
After being held, the horrific happened, a shelter worker mistakenly took Target out of her pen instead of another dog and euthanized her, even though the dog was not scheduled to be put down.
Let me make clear...I think ANY dog being put down is totally wrong and disgusting. An animal being silenced is atrocious, whatever the circumstances.
What happened to Target is just a story that happened to show up on my radar due to its media exposure, as opposed to the thousands of cases that go unrecorded. (To read full article, visit: http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/hero-dog-is-euthanized-by-accident-in-ariz-shelter/19719549 )
Despite horrible stories like this, there are also positive ones, too. There are people who aim to change things. Those who use their anger in a positive way, to fuel their efforts towards making things better.
We aim to contribute and join our passion towards this cause with others who share a love for these animals. We truly think that together beneficial changes can be made and lives can be saved.
Anger isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if its presented and used in a way that aims to work toward something good.
Just ask the band Rage Against the Machine....they'll tell you that "Anger is a gift..."

Case of the Mondays? (11/22)
Good morning and happy Monday to everyone. In many cases, Mondays are generally the most dreaded day of the week.
Most of us watch the clock on Friday, waiting for 5pm to come around, then we openly embrace the weekend, doing our best to leave the week behind us. Monday is spoiler. Monday is the official end of fun and merriment and means a return to the workforce.
Despite the negative stigma that Mondays bring, I happened across a video that really moved me. It features a downed dog in the middle of a busy intersection that is pursued and eventually saved by another dog.
This dog risks life and limb to combat the deadly traffic conditions to save his fellow canine friend.
I don't know about you, but I think there's just something great about that. On my part, it certainly helped me ease into my Monday a little better, maybe it can help yours too.
Check out the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjyhKN_35g
Enjoy your day. Only 4 more to go til' the weekend..lol.
