I Knew There Was Something About that Toto

Did you know that according to temperament testing, Pit Bulls (which I, and most, include American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers and Staffordshire Bull Terriers) score higher than most dogs, including Labs and collies.

So, if you're scared of Pit Bulls, you should be terrified of Lassie!

And if you knew how low Cairn Terriers scored, you'd watch The Wizard of Oz in a whole new light!

My brother and his wife have this horrible little Cairn terrier that barks and snarls at everyone but them. I hate that dog with a passion. I always wonder if I'm going to come out of their house with my ankles intact or not.

The dog isn't "horrible," your brother and his wife are.

Just kidding!

But seriously, your bro is enabling their dog's behavior by not training him otherwise.

No dog is "horrible."

I have a pit/mastiff, a mutt of dubious background, and a purebred Australian Shepherd.
If ANY of them were to be nasty, I'd put money on it being the Aussie.
It's weird though, if she were to nip a child's heels-- which is NOT okay in my house, and she knows that-- it would be thought that she was just showing her herding instincts, and therefore was being a good dog. If the pit cross nipped at a child's heels, he'd be labeled as a menace to society.

Amy - True, but in society's defense (and believe me, I hate defending society), pitties aren't supposed to nip at heels, ya know?
