They build heroes in all shapes and sizes...even with fur.

Good morning and a very happy Saturday to all our friends.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm still full from Thanksgiving and somewhat shell-shocked from the incredible traffic I experienced yesterday aka Black Friday.  Its been quite a week, but its been fun.

Despite the good times, I do happen to have a peeve directly related to Thanksgiving.

I hate it when people after just consuming a small amount of turkey, claim its made them sleepy and all that.  They go on and on about it.  Make jokes and such. I wouldn't mind so much if just about everyone didn't say it with a chuckle while embracing their laziness.

Yes, turkey does contain an amino acid called L-tryptophan, but for it to actually impact someone, they have to eat an enormous about of turkey...nearly a whole bird.

A few plate fulls will not be enough to "drug" someone, what will is eating such an enormous amount of food that digestion is over taxed and blood flow is slowed down considerably.

These same people then plop on the family couch and release a bevy of audible body noises and then pass out.  It wasn't the turkey's fault!!!

Okay, thanks for letting me vent.  Now back to topic.

Over the weekend I had an article brought to my attention by our founder, Harris Bloom.  The article features a dog named, Cassius, who was saved prior to be subject to euthanasia and later went on to become an amazing rescue dog.

This fantastic animal was awarded the Humane Fund Award for Canine Excellence by the American kennel Club and his valuable sniffer helped find sign of life after the earthquake in Haiti, in Sri Lanka following the 2004 tsunami, in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina flooded the city.

Plain and simple, yet another story of a man's best friend rising to the occasion.  Pretty amazing stuff.

Have a great weekend...and keep digesting.
